People’s Church hosted a fabulous Christmas concert on 12 and 13 December 2017 at the Ladies College Auditorium, in aid of the Center of Hope.
The concert, titled ‘Christmas With The Star,’ was the main English language outreach carried out by People’s Church for 2017, and was very well attended, both days.
The concert was comprised of music directed by Soundarie David Rodrigo, featuring Sohan Weerasinghe, Dinushka Jayawickrame, Noeline Honter, Sunil and Piyal Perera, Rukshan Pereira, and Umara, as well as the People’s Church Vocal Ensemble. Pastor Dishan delivered a powerful message of Christmas and an effective outline of the work carried out by the Center of Hope.
Many people who had no previous exposure to the Center of Hope attended this concert, either on the invitation of their friends at People’s Church, or in response to advertisements in the media. By attending the concert, these people learned about the works of compassion carried out by People’s Church through the Center of Hope. They were also given the opportunity to be part of what the Center of Hope does, by donating towards our projects.
All in all, the event was a great success.
