The 40 Days of Purpose at People’s Church included a very successful ‘Ministry Fair,’ which was held on 22 October 2017. 24 ministries (including the five purposes of People’s Church) had stalls at this fair, resulting in 630 people signing up to get involved in the life of People’s Church. Out of this number, a total of 121 people signed up to volunteer with the Center of Hope, at our centers, under our Kidz Klubz program, and at Rays of Hope.
In addition to this, we received a substantial amount in terms of donations, as well as commitments to make donations in the months to come. In the weeks following the Ministry Fair, each volunteer was contacted and many were successfully plugged in to their area of interest. Also, several donors and volunteers visited us at our center in Mattakkuliya during the month of November. These donors and volunteers were briefed on our work and had the opportunity to speak with our children.
